The first recorded Carnival in Horley was the Horley Peace Carnival in 1918. Although the clothes are different and the traffic quieter, Surrey people are still parading through the streets, enjoying themselves.

Horley Carnival was a fixture in the town throughout the 1980s and 1990s. After a break for many years, a Jubilee Fun Day was organised by local organisations in 2012 and has been followed annually by a Carnival ever since with a break during Covid.
