Our Story
A proud tradition of bringing the Horley community together
2012
The Revival
After years without a carnival, dedicated volunteers came together to revive this cherished Horley tradition. The Horley Carnival Association was formed with a mission to bring the community together for an annual celebration.
2013-2019
Growing Stronger
Each year brought new energy and excitement. Local schools, care homes, businesses, and community groups embraced the carnival, creating spectacular parade entries and joining in the celebrations. The event grew to feature arena performances, funfair rides, and dozens of stalls.
2020-2021
Pandemic Pause
Like many community events, the carnival took a necessary break during the COVID-19 pandemic. But the spirit of Horley Carnival remained strong, and plans were made for a triumphant return.
2022-2025
Celebrating Together Again
The carnival returned with renewed enthusiasm! Each year features a unique theme – from superheroes to myths and legends. The 2025 carnival celebrated our 13th year since the revival, with thousands of residents enjoying the parade, performances, and family activities.
Today
A Thriving Tradition
Horley Carnival is now a cornerstone of community life in Horley. Supported by Gatwick Airport, Surrey County Council, and countless local businesses, the carnival continues to be a free, inclusive celebration that brings generations together. Looking forward to many more years of joy and community spirit!
